Network security market up 20% in 2007 to $5.2B

 

CAMPBELLCAMPBELL, California, March 19, 2008—The worldwide network security appliance and software market grew 20% to $5.2 billion in 2007 over 2006, according to Infonetics Research’s quarterlyNetwork Security Appliances and Software report.

“2007 was a strong year across the board for the network security market, with nearly all segments contributing to the strong growth,” said Jeff Wilson principal analyst for network security at Infonetics Research. “Secure routers and SSL VPN gateways did particularly well in 2007 and we expect them to continue selling well at least through 2011.”
